Everyone's been talking about that new African reggae artist. They call him Doc Enigma, a young singer/song writer straight from the heart of West Africa. He's emerging from the underground reggae scene and has now release his first solo debut. Doc is most notable for his highly unique voice both sharp and melodic, having the power to make a whole crowd stop and listen. Armed with conscious lyrics and sweet melodies, Doc Enigma is something of a phenomenon.

In his debut album, Afrikan Soul, Doc Enigma takes the listener on a journey of self-discovery, politics, love, and enlightenment. The tracks are carefully laid out beginning with an ode to his sense to his sense of identity in the hypnotic “Afrikan Soul” and “From Di Motherland”. Next, Doc Enigma stuns us with piercing words on suicide bombers and terrorism in the social conscious “Terrorist City”. Doc Enigma showcases his versatility with “Ghost”; a hardcore track that touches on election fraud issues that plague many African nations today. Doc goes on to ask black women to “Keep It Natural” while addressing relationship issues in the melodic “Trouble in Paradise”.

When some listeners classify Doc Enigma as Tropical, there is no wonder why when you hear the calypso sounding “Breeze Kiss”, which is nothing short of refreshing. On the cultural “Corner Stone”, Doc Enigma speaks of being careful how we threat others ‘cause we don’t know who they will turn out to be. This album is definitely a must get for all reggae fans, and fans of just good music. There is truly something for everyone on this album, and it leaves fans anticipate future releases.
