Sista I was so encouraged about the life and successes of Harriet Tubman. She was inspired to perform the story of Harriet Tubman to the community especially in schools, churches, senior centers and even had taken a production group of friends to perform the life of Harriet Moses Tubman with poetry, drumming, sound effects, african dance and large scene of slaves on their journey to freedom, shackes, and a wanted dead or alive poster of Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman Rides Again (Dramatic Poem performed with sound effect, artwork by Bro. Kaki and photos which includes family & friends portraying slaves)Her video tied 1st place in The Women In Film & Video Contest 1993. It was view on big screen at a Movie Theatre in Fells Point where the contest took place.
Involvement with the Harriet Tubman Coalition located in the Eastern Shore and having an opportunity to meet the decendents of Harriet Tubman on 2 occassions motivated her to put together a presentation centered around Harriet Tubman by bringing a poem called Runagate,Runagate by Robert Hayden(1966), with permission to use the poem for educational purposes only.Shortly was inspired to write her own original song/poem about Harriet Tubman from her own research. "Ain't Got Long To Stay Here" written by Sista Inora McQueen was was one of the poems she performed that is an original piece of hers and The Great Blacks In Wax (located in Tubman City-Baltimore) published the book. Their are several other writers who protrayed Great Black Americans in the Book and all are wax figures in the GBIW located onthe corner of East North Avenue & Broadway Street.
