Profile and history

In his home country Liberia Julius Lahai had his first appearance on stage at the age of 7 in a TV "Weekend Special Show".When he was 12 he founded his first band "the robatics".He has won the international "who is who in west africa"-award,was elected "Mr.West Africa" and went on tour in seven different african states with the famous band "Afro Nyomandy".
Due to the breakout of the terrible civil war in Liberia during those years he could not return to his homecountry anymore. He now founded a band called "T-Lex Professionals" ,became very successfull once again and had several offers to sign contracts with record labels in africa. 1992 he signed a contract with the guinean label "Nimba"and produced his first recordings.

After several very successful shows and tours within africa he was invited to come to Paris and signed a contract with the "crystal music agency"and toured through the clubs and events inside france for a while before he decided to move on further to germany. Passing the island of Sylt he arrived in Cologne and signed with the german record label "Power jam Records"where he released "rythm traveller" as a part of a compilation called"liquid soul".

2003 he released his first album in germany ,"Free your mind",marketed by Edition "wawi" and distributed by "ALIVE AG" in Cologne.
At present Julius Lahai is working on his second album.

Julius Lahai is much more than just a musician and song composer, he is an outrageous dancer and entertainer as well and with his music he spreads a message of unity of mankind, peace and togetherness .
He has gathered highly talented and professional musicians around him in his band and together offer their audience a unique and fascinating mixture of african rooted melodies, solid guitar rock, "must-dance"-rythms and an outrageous live performance.
